How to play

How to play Keno, step by step

Keno takes five steps: open the game, pick numbers, set your stake and confirm the ticket, wait for the 20 numbers, then check the result. Before you pick, open the pay table to see how different numbers of picks pay.

  1. Open GPI Lottery from the lottery lobby and choose Keno.
  2. Pick your numbers from the 1 to 80 board (the screen shows how many you can choose).
  3. Set your stake and confirm the ticket before the draw closes.
  4. Twenty numbers are drawn. Your payout depends on how many of your picks match, using the pay table shown for the number of picks you chose.
  5. Check the results panel; winning tickets are credited to your balance automatically.

Quick tip: Picking more numbers does not automatically improve your chances of profit; compare the pay table for different pick counts first.

Features

Options and pay table in Keno

The one real choice in Keno is how many numbers you pick, because each pick count has its own pay table. Everything else, drawing 20 of the 80 numbers, is done by the game.

Who it suits

Who is Keno for? Pros and cons

Keno suits players who like choosing lucky numbers but do not want to wait for the twice-monthly Thai government draw, and who like a slower rhythm than slots. It is not for players who want decisions during a round, because once the ticket is confirmed, you simply wait for the result.

Pros

  • Simple rules: pick, confirm, wait for the draw.
  • Results arrive within minutes.
  • You choose how many numbers to pick, which changes which pay table applies.

Cons

  • Picking more numbers does not automatically mean more profit; compare the pay tables.
  • GPI publishes no pay rates or RTP we could verify.
  • Draws are quick, so buying every round adds up fast.
Misconceptions

Common misconceptions about Keno

The most common Keno misconceptions are that more picks means a better chance of profit, and that numbers which have not appeared for a while are due. Payouts follow the pay table for your pick count, and each draw is random on its own.

“Picking lots of numbers gives a better chance of profit”

The facts: More picks make it more likely that some of them match, but the pay table for a larger pick count is different too. Compare the tables first.

“7 has not been drawn for ten rounds, so it is coming next”

The facts: Every round of this game is decided by its random number generator, independently of the last. Previous results, the time of day and a run of losses do not make the next round more or less likely to pay.

“Twenty numbers are drawn, so picking 20 makes matching all of them easy”

The facts: Twenty numbers are drawn from 80, so each number you pick is still more likely to miss than to hit. The maximum number of picks is shown on the game screen.
